Finance Professional Network by RMIT & CFA Society® Melbourne

Providing a platform to connect academic staff, students, alumni and industry practitioners for knowledge sharing, networking events and professional development.

A series of events will be held for members of the Network, including research and career workshops, networking events and debating competitions. The Network will receive oversight from an Advisory Committee that consists of two RMIT academic staff, two RMIT finance students (postgraduate and undergraduate), and a representative from the CFA Institute and an alumni from the Finance Industry. Membership is free and open to all RMIT staff, members of the CFA Institute, RMIT finance students and RMIT alumni.

The Objectives of this network are to:

  1. Promote research activities and education opportunities of RMIT finance disciplines to members and non‐members
  2. Disseminate RMIT finance academic research beyond academia to the public at large
  3. Provide networking opportunities for RMIT finance students, alumni, industry practitioners and academics
  4. Offer relevant and sustainable extracurricular opportunities focused on student experience and transformation, bridging the gap between in‐class learning and the world of work.

Finance at RMIT

The Finance department at RMIT was recently ranked 10th in Australia for studies in finance (2020) and Top 8 nationally for research (2021). Our engaging and practical courses give students a competitive advantage in their careers and help shape the future of finance.

CFA Society Melbourne

The CFA Society Melbourne represents the interests of over 850 local members of the investment profession. Our mission is to serve members of the Society and enhance the reputation of the CFA® designation in Australia by promoting ethics, integrity and professional excellence; and to improve the competency and standards of the investment profession in Australia. Our independent voice aims to ensure the integrity and efficiency of the capital markets that underpin our profession and the broader economy.
