RMIT’s Centre for Environmental Sustainability and Remediation takes an outcome-oriented approach to tackle environmental issues that impact the sustainability of local and international communities.
RMIT's Centre for Environmental Sustainability and Remediation undertakes high-quality research of international standing. Our world-renowned researchers include environmental scientists, social scientists and engineers who work together to understand and solve environmental and sustainability problems. We work collaboratively with industries and research entities to minimise the impact of land, water and air pollution.
We take a multi-disciplinary approach to conduct fundamental and applied research that delivers tangible benefits to society, industry, and government.
Our five research areas include environmental impact, terrestrial sciences, aquatic sciences, atmospheric processes and analytical techniques.
Based at RMIT’s City and Bundoora campuses, our team of more than 25 researchers are supported by our extensive research facilities including state-of the art analytical equipment for testing a wide range of organic and inorganic pollutants, metals/metalloids and particulates.
Our environmental testing facilities cover water, soil, air and biological matrices, ecotoxicology, microbiology, biochemistry, metagenomics and natural products analysis.
