RMIT’s timetabling system is called myTimetable. You will need to be an RMIT student and enrolled in courses to access this system. 

During the preference entry period, you can log onto myTimetable to enter your class-time preferences. The system will then allocate you to classes. These will be available for viewing and editing during the allocation adjustment period. 
 
If you are not enrolled yet, you can check for potential class-times using the read-only version of myTimetable.

When your enrolment has been processed, you will be able to log onto myTimetable to see your classes. Please allow some time for the automatic allocation to occur. 

If you're studying a traineeship or apprenticeship program your Program Manager will provide your attendance dates and times. Check your RMIT email for more information or contact us through the RMIT Connect portal below.

Yes, during the preference entry period you can change your class preferences as many times as you like through myTimetable

All preferences entered within this time frame will be considered by the system equally. There is no time disadvantage to entering your preferences, provided they are entered and saved before the due date

After the preference entry period has closed, myTimetable will be unavailable while RMIT allocates students to classes. You will not be able to make changes until the allocation adjustment period opens. During the allocation adjustment period, you can make changes to your timetable based on available class spaces, using a first-in, first-served basis.

If you study a vocational program you can’t change your individual classes in myTimetable - you can only view them. 

Your classes are allocated based on your enrolment group (the section code that is assigned by your College).

If you have an unavoidable clash between core courses, you should submit an enquiry through the RMIT Connect Portal below. 

For clashes with personal commitments, please use the myTimetable swap ‘heart’ function to request a place in a full class – if a place becomes available, you’ll automatically be allocated to the class.

VE timetables are designed to be clash-free, provided you are enrolled within your group code. If you are experiencing a clash, please contact your School through the RMIT Connect portal below to check that you are enrolled correctly.

You will not be formally allocated to your classes until the Allocation Adjustment period opens. 

In the meantime, make sure you have entered your preferences during the Preference Entry period by following the instructions below: 

  1. In the Enrolment panel, click on a class that has a status of PREFERENCE
  2. Use the dropdown boxes to number each class; with 1 being your most preferred class.
  3. Click Save. The icon next to the class in the Enrolment panel will change from red (not allocated) to orange (pending).
  4. Repeat for each class with a status of PREFERENCE.

You will be automatically allocated to your classes by the myTimetable system. If you have enrolled recently, please allow a few days for the system to process this.

If you are ‘Not allocated’ and all of the available classes are FULL, please contact us through the RMIT Connect portal below.

During the Allocation Adjustment period, you can use the myTimetable swap 'heart' function to request a place in a full class - if a place becomes available, you'll automatically be allocated to the class. Follow these steps to make a swap request:
  1. Log in to myTimetable
  2. In the myTimetable Enrolment panel, click on the course and activity you want to swap (e.g. ECON1010 LTL01), and you'll be presented with alternative time options offered for the class.
  3. Next to each class that's full you'll see a heart. Click on the heart to request a place in the class
  4. If a place becomes available, the system will automatically allocate you to your requested class and remove you from your original class.
NOTE: If you submit a swap request but change your mind, don't forget to remove the request by clicking on the heart again.

If all classes offered are full, please submit an enquiry through the RMIT Connect portal below. Please include the course code, e.g. BUSM1234

If you have recently changed your enrolment via Enrolment Online, you will need to wait for your enrolment to process before appearing on myTimetable. This process usually takes 60 minutes. 

If you CAN see your course on the Enrolment panel, but it appears as "No activity group available", then your course may not have been entered into myTimetable yet. Please check again later.
