Social and culture experiences

There’s no better way to find out what social and cultural opportunities will spark your interest than checking them out in-person. There’s something for everyone and we’re sure you’ll be surprised by what you find.

RMIT esports and games

Don’t miss your chance to check out some of our gaming facilities on Open Day! The RMIT Community Gaming Space is part of our Melbourne City campus, you can find it in Building 8 just off Bowen Street. You’ll get to see our students in action and if you’re feeling up to the challenge, you can join a game or two.

RMIT University Student Union (RUSU)

The RMIT University Student Union (RUSU) is a 100% student run group that does loads for students. RUSU supports and improves the student experience at RMIT by running student events and services like free weekly breakfast and lunch events, and facilitating safe spaces on campus, just to name a few. You’ll find RUSU members all over Open Day or you can ask about it at their tent on the City campus.

RMITV

Did you know RMIT has its own television production house? RMITV is the oldest and longest-surviving community television organisation in Australia - it’s also student-run and powered by the RUSU. They’ll be on Bowen Street at the City campus on Open Day if you’d like to chat with the students who make the magic happen.

RMIT Culture

RMIT Culture is responsible for the cultural spaces, creative programs and inspiring collections. They’re the people behind many of RMIT’s fantastic creative opportunities from exhibitions to film screenings. If you’ve a passion for the art and culture, even if you’re not studying them, keep an eye out for events organised by RMIT Culture. This Open Day, they’ll be hosting the 'Future Folds: contemporary investigations in origami' an exhibition that showcases innovative uses of origami. It’s not just a place for research, it also nurtures creativity and invention with facilities like Makerspace.
