If you are currently in Australia on a temporary visa (other than a student visa) and your visa has a full study entitlement, you will not be subject to Educational Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) legislation and student visa-related conditions. This will enable you to apply for a variety of programs at RMIT University, without being restricted to programs with a CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students) registration.
Please refer to the Department of Home Affairs for information on your visa condition and study entitlements. You may also use Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) system to check your visa conditions and study entitlement.
If you are applying for a non-CRICOS registered program on a non-student visa, you will not be able to use this study to apply for a student visa should you need to change your visa at the later stage. It is your responsibility to ensure that your temporary visa stays valid for the entire duration of your program.
If your citizenship, residency status or conditions of your visa changes after you enrol, you must notify RMIT as soon as possible. Learn more about updating your status.
You can apply via online admissions portal.
You can check your visa conditions and study entitlement from Department of Home Affairs website or Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO). RMIT University reserves the right to verify and confirm your visa information through VEVO system.
You can check the program’s availability on program page. Just select Student type: International on the program page.
If your preferred program is not available for international intakes, select Student type: Domestic to find out if the program is available for international students with a temporary non-student visa.
When your bridging visa is in effect, it may allow the same conditions as your substantive visa. When applying to RMIT, please submit a copy of your bridging visa along with your substantive visa application acknowledgement letter to confirm your visa condition and study entitlement.
You will receive the notification from our online admissions system once your application has been received.
You will be required to submit a copy of your passport and supporting documents, such as academic transcripts and English proficiency test (if applicable). Learn more about required documentation.
Entry requirements can be found on the program page.
You will receive an outcome of your application through your email address from our online admissions system.
You can accept your offer and make the deposit payment through our online admissions system.
If you are not an Australian citizen, permanent resident, permanent humanitarian visa holder, asylum seeker applicant or a New Zealand citizen, then you are considered a temporary resident and will be subject to RMIT’s international tuition fees. Find out more about Approved schedule of fees and charges.
