Overview

Explore Revit's advanced productivity tools with an emphasis on families and custom elements in this intermediate/advanced level course. Delivered through theory, demonstrations and practical application, participants will gain hands on experience and build confidence through a series of practical exercises.

Course content

  • Create custom templates and custom element types
  • Create schedules, including formulas
  • Create custom wall, roof, and floor types
  • Set up a family file
  • Create family geometry
  • Create family types
  • Create specific families, including, in-place families, profiles and annotation
  • In depth review of working with curtain walls and groups
  • Working with Rooms and scheduling
  • Set up Design Options
  • Working with Phases
  • Working with CAD link as well as linking Revit models
  • Introduction to working collaboratively with multiple users
  • Learn best practices to build architectural project in Revit.

Students who book this course will have access to the Revit software for the duration of the course, and one month after the course concludes. 

The course is delivered in an RMIT computer lab, so you won't need to bring your own laptop.

Prerequisites

Revit Architecture Level 1 or foundational Revit knowledge/experience.

Basic computer skills are essential such as mouse control, Windows skills, the ability to use the internet and file storage networks.

Materials supplied

All relevant course notes are supplied with comprehensive instructions and exercises.

Students who book this course will have access to the Revit software for the duration of the course, and one month after the course concludes. 

The course is delivered in an RMIT computer lab, so you won't need to bring your own laptop.

Materials to bring

Pen, paper and/or laptop for note taking. A USB flash drive (4GB+) for transferring and storing files.

This program is for anyone who wants to further their skills in using Revit.

Additional notes

All our trainers are professional Architects, Building or Interior Designers with extensive Revit experience. They are also Autodesk certified professionals. Many teach in related programs at RMIT.

Outcome

At the completion of this course participants should have acquired an understanding of the advanced features of Revit that they can apply to their own work practices.

Upon finishing the course you will receive a RMIT Certificate of Completion. You can use this as a record to demonstrate the outcomes covered in the course.

You must attend 80% of this course to be eligible for a Certificate (or 75% of a four-day course).
