Thank you for choosing RMIT University as your employer. At RMIT University we like to empower people to learn and grow because we're passionate about what we do.
In this video, you will find useful information on your interview, such as who will attend your interview, the types of questions that will be asked during the interview, and where you can find useful information that can be really helpful on the day of the interview.
Typically, the interview questions you may be asked will focus on your professional experience, qualifications, reason for applying, career objectives, and what do you look for from the organisational culture or your manager.
At RMIT our values guide what we do, how we make decisions and how we treat each other.
You will find that some of the questions will touch on how you will exhibit these in your daily life.
Here, we always experiment and explore new ideas, so we will ask you about the strategies you will implement or how you would react to a specific situation related to your work.
This can be done through role plays, case studies, presentations, or psychometric testing.
These types of questions aim to establish your ability to perform in your role.
The interview is the perfect opportunity for you to ask us any questions you may have about RMIT University and the job.
Don't forget to prepare some for us. The format of the interview will depend on the role and the location.
It could be a face to face interview with the panel, or it could be a video or an exam based interview, which allows you to be interviewed from wherever you prefer.
When you are invited to interview, we will confirm the format with you so you know exactly what to expect.
Next, you will meet the interview panel. The panel will typically consist of the hiring manager or nominee, a person with relevant expertise who could be external to the university, or a representative where possible.
We strive for gender balance and diversity in our panels.
We are also happy to make adjustments to the recruitment process for your accessibility requirements.
Please email Talentsupport@rmit.edu.au with your request.
Make sure to check the address of your interview on the invitation we send you.
If you like, you can ask for a campus map from your recruiter.
You can view our strategy and values on the RMIT website.
We wish you the best of luck.
