If you don't have a TFN yet, you can still complete the eCAF form.  

You will need to get a:

In section D of the eCAF form select:

I have a 'Certificate of Application for a TFN' (you will then be able to attach your document)

Note: You will still need to provide your TFN to RMIT before the census date to finalise your loan application. Please do not send your TFN directly to Student Connect. 

To apply for a HELP loan or VET Student Loan follow the steps outlined on the HELP loans and VET Student Loans page.

You can then confirm that you have been approved for the loan by logging in to Enrolment Online
  • Select My student record
  • under Financial details, select View Commonwealth assistance approval letter.
Note: Don't forget to check your eligibility for SA-HELP to cover your student services and amenities fee (SSAF).

Please Note: This application is only available to currently enrolled students.

To be eligible for Student Hardship Assistance, you must provide sufficient information and evidence in PDF format that demonstrate a one-off financial assistance will alleviate direct and related negative impacts to study. 

Applying does not guarantee that it will be approved and, if your application is granted, the approved amount may vary from your request.   

If your application is approved, it can take up to ten working days for the money to be available in your account once you have confirmed that your bank account details in myRMIT are up to date.

You will be emailed a PDF copy of your submitted Commonwealth Assistance Form (eCAF) via the eCAF portal to confirm you have submitted your eCAF.

You can confirm you have been approved for a government loan by logging in to Enrolment Online
  • Select My student record
  • under Financial details, select View Commonwealth assistance approval letter.

If you are an international student and 
  • you have not yet enrolled
OR 
  • you are in the first semester of a program

If you are a domestic or continuing international student, please complete the Domestic and international refund form.

To be eligible for a fee concession you must meet the eligibility criteria and apply by following these steps.

Note: Your application must be submitted before the start date of your first scheduled class.

You will receive an email from the government with your unique login information for each loan you wish to apply for. This email will be sent to your RMIT student email account. Follow the instructions carefully to complete your loan application. 

If you can't find the email, check your spam folder - if it's not there, get in touch with Student Connect below.

Each time you add or drop a course you will receive an updated invoice. You can download "Your tax invoice explained" for information on how to read and understand your invoice.

Your invoice will list fee due dates as well as recommended payment methods. 

The easiest way to pay is online.
  1. Check that your browser settings allow pop-ups (how to allow pop-ups in Chrome)

  2. Log in to Enrolment Online
    • Go to My Student Record
    • Click View Account/Pay Fees
    • Click Pay by Credit Card (a new window will appear to enter credit card details)
