Design Hub launches first exhibitions

RMIT University's Design Hub - a new centre for collaboration on design projects of all kinds - has launched its first exhibitions, on the subject of publishing design.

Until Wednesday 27th March, 2013, a critically acclaimed international touring exhibition called Archizines, and another called Public Offer, are showing in Design Space 1 and 2, two display areas which can be accessed from a ground-level forecourt on Victoria Street, Melbourne.

The Design Hub building is located on the corner of Swanston and Victoria Streets.

The two free exhibitions are open Monday to Friday from 11am to 6pm.

They feature local and international publications including obscure "zines", cassette music magazines, and well-known international design titles such as the Dutch magazine, Volume.

As well as printed publications, the exhibitions also feature blogs, podcasts and radio shows, encouraging visitors to become involved.

On 26th March, the exhibitions will draw to a close with a round-table discussion that organisers promise will be "provocative".

The full Design Hub 2013 activity program will also be unveiled at that time.

The Archizines exhibition has been curated by Elias Redstone, and Public Offer curated by Timothy Moore and Kate Rhodes.
