Course Description
This course will focus on the information sector (libraries, archives, museums, records and business units etc.) and a range of evolving issues as experienced in the information professions. The course is designed to contribute to your development as a "critical practitioner”: a professional who is both skilled and critically engaged with their profession.
The contexts in which information is provided will be defined and examined and this will include exposure to ‘real life’ practice within the profession through a variety of speakers from industry and engagement with real world activities.
This course includes a Work Integrated Learning experience. You will undertake structured activities in authentic engagement with a partner organisation that allow you to learn, apply and demonstrate your professional practice.
This course also provides you with a capstone experience, which will provide you with the opportunity to integrate, critically reflect on and consolidate what you have learnt in your program.

- Discuss the ethical, legal, cultural and policy issues that are relevant to the profession and the distribution of information freely and equitably.
