Note: it is a condition of enrolment at RMIT that you accept responsibility for ensuring that you have completed the prerequisite courses before enrolling in a course.
For a range of topics assumed knowledge of marketing, marketing management and implementation is required; you could be restricted in your topic selection if you do not have this assumed knowledge.
Course Description

This elective provides you with the opportunity to work with global industry partners to investigate and analyse opportunities and challenges specific to an area of research related to fashion entrepreneurship.
You will undertake an entrepreneurial project that engages with the fashion and/or textiles industry. You will critically analyse fashion business models, supply systems and production methods. Your research, analytical, evaluative and practical skills will be significantly linked through self-directed inquiry. You will evaluate and develop solutions, presentations and concepts for specific industry projects at a professional level. You may work on projects in teams with other students and will gain experience in interacting with an external company or organisation that is related to your area of inquiry.
Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development
As this is an option course, only Course Learning Outcomes apply.
Upon successful completion of the course you will be able to:
CLO1: Design and implement a major project in cooperation with others, including industry partners
CLO2: Clearly identify and evaluate the objectives, rationale and methods for conducting an entrepreneurial project
CLO3: Justify and apply appropriate research methodologies to your inquiry
CLO4: Discriminate and critically engage with the theoretical, practical and creative aspects in your inquiry to achieve set goals and outcomes
CLO5: Effectively communicate the findings and outcomes of your project to a range of stakeholders
Overview of Learning Activities
Your learning will be facilitated via a range of in-class and online activities that will require both individual and collaborative engagement. Class activities promote your ability to enquire, investigate, analyse and solve fashion entrepreneurship problems.

Overview of Assessment
You will be assessed on how well you meet the course’s learning outcomes. Continuous course assessment will consist of four summative assessments. The details of assessments will be given to you at the start of the course. Information about performance standards required for each assessment task are detailed in the assignment section on Canvas. All assessments will be assessed individually.
Assessment Tasks:
Assessment Task 1: Research Proposal (15%), CLOs: 2, 3 & 4
Assessment Task 2: Literature Review (25%), CLO: 4
Assessment Task 3: Publication Proposal (5%), CLO: 5
Assessment Task 4: Major Thesis or Publication and Final Presentation (55%), CLOs: 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5
