Course Description
In this course you will develop knowledge and technical skills in video editing and visual effects using specialist tools for image manipulation. This will be done by completing a range of practical tutorials and projects, where you will explore the key technical operations in post-production workflow and learn about editing concepts important in the structuring of diverse screen productions.
Objectives/Learning Outcomes/Capability Development
This course contributes to the following Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) of the AD017 Associate Degree in Screen and Media Production:
1. produce screen and media content with high production values for a range of platforms and environments
3. apply and creatively adapt theoretical and technical knowlege and skills in screen and media production to your practice or future study
4. identify, analyse and reflect on relevant trends in screen and media production in both local and international contexts.
8. apply initiative and judgement in planning, problem solving and decision making in your work or further study
Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to:
1. describe principles of video editing and visual effects used to enhance screen productions
2. analyse techniques and processes of video editing and visual effects used in a range of screen productions
3. determine video editing and visual effects requirements from a production brief
4. apply a diverse range of video editing techniques and visual effects to a range of work
5. apply industry practices to post-production workflows
