Required Prior Study
Successful completion of BUSM4789 Introduction to Fashion Enterprise or MKTG1442 Introduction to Fashion Retailing.
Alternatively, you may be able to demonstrate the required skills and knowledge before you start this course.
Course Description
This course introduces you to the knowledge and skills required to manage Fashion eCommerce and Online Retail Businesses. You will evaluate business models and archetypes to propose and develop an online fashion business. You will apply eCommerce principles to merchandise products on a web-based platform. You will learn commercial skills such as trading online, reporting and analytics, marketplaces and customer service. You will work with others to demonstrate an ability to manage agency and internal relationships.

Program Learning Outcomes
In this course you will develop the following program learning outcomes:
PLO1: Critically review, analyse and evaluate theory and industry knowledge relevant for fashion enterprise in the global fashion business environment.
PLO2: Apply a range of creative and commercial skills to successfully practice in a range of roles in the field of fashion enterprise.
PLO4: Communicate using a range of formats and strategies to diverse audiences within and external to the fashion enterprise field.
PLO5: Work with others in a range of roles and contexts, demonstrating cultural, environmental and social awareness through ethical and reflective practice.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
CLO1: Apply knowledge of fashion eCommerce theory.
CLO 2: Analyse and evaluate eCommerce business models within the global fashion business environment.
CLO 3: Identify the challenges and opportunities within global fashion eCommerce markets to develop competitive management strategies.
CLO 4: Apply fashion eCommerce principles to the creative and commercial development of a practical fashion eCommerce plan for apparel brands.

Your learning will be facilitated via a range of in-class and online activities that will require both individual and collaborative engagement. Class activities promote your ability to enquire, investigate, analyse and solve fashion business problems.

You will be assessed on how well you meet the course’s learning outcomes and on your development against the program learning outcomes.
Assessment Tasks:
Assessment Task 1: eCommerce Topic Analysis (10%), CLO 1, 2 & 3
Assessment Task 2: eCommerce Business Model Analysis (40%), CLOs 2 & 3
Assessment Task 3: eCommerce Strategy (50%), CLOs 3 & 4
