Course Description
In this course you will examine the culture and practice of sustainable innovation from the incremental to the radical. You will examine important precedents in the field of fashion and textiles sustainable innovation and relate these developments to contemporary practices that are interdisciplinary and culturally diverse. You will implement strategies for planning, organising and synthesising information within a real-world context. You will communicate and reflect on your findings through a variety of methods.

Program Learning Outcomes
In this course you will develop the following program learning outcomes:
PLO1: Demonstrate and apply a diverse and industry-relevant body of skills and knowledge in sustainable innovation for the fashion and textiles industry, related fields and emerging markets.
PLO2: Critically analyse, synthesise and reflect on sustainable innovation in both local and international contexts.
PLO3: Demonstrate creativity, critical thinking and innovation when identifying and solving problems in diverse contexts within the field of fashion and textiles sustainable innovation.
PLO5: Work with others in a range of roles and contexts, demonstrating cultural, environmental and social awareness and ethical and reflective practice.
Course Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
CLO 1: Research and identify important precedents in the field and how these inform, influence and relate to fashion, innovation, sustainability and/or contemporary business practices.
CLO 2: Examine and analyse influential global and local trends or developments in fashion and textiles sustainable innovation.
CLO 3: Develop strategies for implementing sustainable innovation in a business context for the fashion and textiles industry.

Your learning will be facilitated via a range of in-class and online activities that will require both individual and collaborative engagement. Class activities will promote your ability to propose, investigate, plan, analyse, and realise sustainable innovative fashion and textiles solutions.
