Course Description
This course builds on your knowledge about basic disease processes from BIOL2538 Human Pathophysiology 1. You will learn and apply knowledge about the cellular mechanisms underlying disease, how they result in clinical manifestations and treatments of major disorders of the endocrine, renal, immune, reproductive and digestive systems. Disorders of fluid and electrolyte and acid-base imbalances will also be explored.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Explain pathophysiological processes underlying major disorders in the endocrine, renal, reproductive and digestive systems, fluid and electrolyte and acid-base imbalances.
- Critically analyse how the body responds to, and compensates for, injury through mechanisms such as repair, regeneration, fibrosis and altered function.
- Apply pathophysiology concepts at a cellular and gross anatomical level to case-based scenarios and explain clinical manifestations and symptoms.
- Apply pathophysiological concepts to current science and health industry challenges.

You will be actively engaged in a range of learning activities such as lectorials, tutorials, practicals, laboratories, seminars, project work, class discussion, individual and group activities. Delivery may be face to face, online or a mix of both.
