Course Description
In this Course you will explore why businesses succeed whilst others fail through studying fundamental theory behind contemporary business practice and its intersection with workplace culture both for large and small (start-up) organisations. Key topics explored in this course include organisational strategic modelling, basic finance concepts, business plan development, organisational behaviour, leadership, and risk management.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
1. Contribute as a Team member or leader using organisation management skills in Teams with diverse and globally inclusive perspectives.
2. Apply risk management, research methods and strategic analysis skills for an entrepreneurial idea in engineering and environmentally sustainable contexts.
3. Communicate the findings from financial and strategic analyses of an entrepreneurial idea to a diverse audience.
4. Recommend practical implementation or action plans and strategic options for an entrepreneurial idea in a Business Plan."
Overview of Learning Activities
You will be actively engaged in a range of learning activities such as pre-recorded lectures lectorials, tutorials, practicals, laboratories, seminars, project work, class discussion, individual and group activities. Delivery may be face to face, online or a mix of both.
Prior to attending the timetabled, face-to-face sessions you will be expected to have completed the specified online activities.
You are encouraged to be proactive and self-directed in your learning, asking questions of your lecturer and/or peers and seeking out information as required, especially from the numerous sources available through the RMIT library, and through links and material specific to this course that is available through myRMIT Studies Course.
