Course Description
This course is the second of a series of four method courses designed to develop your knowledge and skills to teach in your chosen specialist discipline area(s) in secondary school settings.
In this course, you will bring together and apply your understanding of previous specialisation course to consider innovations in curriculum and pedagogy in education from the context of your chosen specialisation(s). You will consider policy, theory and practice and how these relate to the innovations of education with a particular focus on the challenges of innovating in secondary schools. You will consider the ways teachers advocate for change and the features of innovation design. Understandings of innovation will be developed by drawing on theory, policy, and examples of contemporary practice.
