Course Description

This course examines leadership from intersectional lenses, i.e., the overlap of various social identities that one holds including: ethnicity, gender, culture, class, age, nationality, etc. You will discuss implicit bias, unconscious bias, structural bias, and micro-aggressions. These biases will be benchmarked against the Sustainable Development Goals that feature inclusivity, equality, and justice (4, 5, 10, 16). This course builds on content delivered in BUSM2573.

Under-explored perspectives and cultures in Business Management literature, such as Asian, Muslim, and Indigenous perspectives, will be critically compared to traditional Business Management perspectives in a constructive way. This course equips you to be connected, adaptive, and inclusive leaders who can expertly lead teams comprised of individuals who embody multiple identities.

This course is a component of the Leadership and Strategy major.
