Course Description

This course focuses on leadership dynamics at the dyadic, team, and organisational levels. You will learn how to foster a team dynamic of intercultural safety and creative innovation to embody adaptive organisations. Using evidence-based tools and strategies, you will learn how to create and lead through productive conflicts to create high-performing teams and organisations. This course features a partnership with an industry champion for a truly authentic experience.

This course incorporates Work Integrated Learning (WIL) for a truly authentic and applied experience.

Key to being able to lead effective teams and organisations is an awareness of how cultural and diversity frameworks can be used to promote a positive, inclusive & productive organisational environment. Adaptive, agile and collaborative leadership skills will be foregrounded as a way to lead ethically through internal and external professional networks.

This course is a component of the Leadership and Strategy major and minor.

CLO1 – Diagnose organisational challenges at a range of organisational levels to explore leadership alternatives in meeting those challenges.

CLO2 – Critically analyse and develop cultural and diversity frameworks actionable by business leaders to design inclusion strategies and create a positive commercial environment.

CLO3 – Work with peers and a WiIL partner on a contemporary organisational leadership challenge

CLO4 – Design an adaptive leadership approach using your collaboration skills to contribute to an organisational change strategy for specific commercial environments.


Overview of Learning Activities

This course is delivered as a blend of face-to-face activities and online learning. Learning will be supported through in-class and online activities such as: personal development activities, guest speakers/expert commentators, case studies, prescribed readings, practical tasks, seeking and providing peer feedback, and reflective praxis.
