Course Description

This course will give students the opportunity to critically reflect on and consolidate knowledge learned in the Leadership & Strategy Major. You will apply theories, frameworks, matrices, and other tools to solve real world challenges facing contemporary organisations.

This course incorporates Work Integrated Learning (WIL) with an industry partner for a truly authentic and applied experience. By the end of this course, you will be able to critically and adaptively integrate leadership & strategy theory useful for making evidence-based decisions. This course empowers you to effectively manage yourself, teams, and organisations in today’s dynamic, multi-cultural, Sustainable Development Goal (SDG)-aware, business context.

You will be asked to draw on all 6 of the AoL capabilities and all your program PLOs as you work through your assessments.

This course is a component of the Leadership and Strategy major.

CLO1: Identify and evaluate the effects of emerging technologies on global commerce and analyse their ethical, social, environmental, and economic impacts.

CLO2: Formulate, justify, and communicate strategic solutions for specific real-world commercial contexts utilising advanced commerce 

concepts and research.

CLO3: Analyse and develop cultural and diversity frameworks actionable by business leaders to design inclusion strategies and create a positive commercial environment.

CLO4: Apply critical thinking and problem-solving in diverse teams to address assigned business issues at global, local, and national levels of analysis using contemporary digital technologies.

CLO5: Design an adaptive leadership approach using your collaboration skills to contribute to an organisational change strategy for specific commercial environments.


Overview of Learning Activities

This course is delivered as a blend of face-to-face activities and online learning. Learning will be supported through in-class and online activities such as: personal development activities, guest speakers/expert commentators, case studies, prescribed readings, practical tasks, seeking and providing peer feedback, and reflective praxis.
