If you are completing this course as part of the Textiles and Material Design minor, you should have satisfactorily completed 'GRAP2816 Introduction to Textiles Materials' before you commence this course.
Course Description
In this course you will develop skills and knowledge in innovative digital prototyping tools. You will explore conceptual and technical development of textiles, using digital technologies for application across multiple disciplines.
You will create patterns, textures and structures that can be applied to 3D objects, surfaces and spaces. You will translate these digital designs, into virtual environments through combinations of technologies and experimentation.
In this course, you will also undertake learning activities/assessments to engage and connect you with industry relevant to your current studies.

Course Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
1. Identify and analyse diverse examples of digital textile design.
2. Create digital patterns, textures and structures.
3. Identify and demonstrate potential applications of digital textile designs into virtual environments.

You will be actively engaged in a range of learning activities such as lectures, tutorials, seminars, project work, class discussion, individual and group activities. Delivery may be face to face, online or a mix of both.

Assessment Tasks
Assessment Task 1: Presentation: Digital Textile Design in Context (10%) CLO1
Assessment Task 2: Individual Project Proposal (40%) CLO 1,2
Assessment Task 3: Project (30%) and Presentation (20%) (total 50%) CLO1,2,3
