Course Description

This course offers honours year students an opportunity to explore genuine business research practices through real-industry related projects, working with local, national, or multinational business, and cultures. Engaging with pool of available businesses will enhance the students understanding of commercial dynamics and business decision making in a research context. Students will tackle a selected research challenge with an industry partner with the aim to nurture their commercial research knowledge and practical learning. This will be supported by a series of seminars and online modules. Students will learn to navigate unstructured and incomplete information, develop a consulting project, and present their findings in formats suitable for professional settings. Students will critically reflect on their roles as local, national, and global citizens, considering the broader impact of their actions on communities and environments. Please note that if you take this course for a bachelor honours program, your overall mark in this course will be one of the course marks that will be used to calculate the weighted average mark (WAM) that will determine your award level (this applies to students who commence enrolment in a bachelor honours program from 1 January 2016 onward). See the WAM information web page for more information.
