About

Dr. Hoang Nguyen, an early career researcher, has been deeply engaged in advanced materials and fire safety engineering research, focusing on developing innovative solutions for fire-resistant materials. His academic journey has been supported by prestigious scholarships, including the Erasmus Mundus Master’s scholarship in 2016 and a PhD scholarship granted by the Australian Research Council (ARC) in 2020.

During his PhD at RMIT University, as part of the ARC DECRA project, he collaborated closely with Warringtonfire Australia to assess the fire performance of fire-safe cladding panels, directly linking academic research with practical industry needs. He was also engaged as a Technical Adviser at Cladding Safety Victoria (CSV) working with CSIRO’s Data61 to develop data-driven protocols for mitigating cladding risks, demonstrating his ability to bridge research with regulatory applications. Dr Nguyen also employs advanced numerical and analytical methods, including Computational Fluid Dynamics, to support and advocate for fire safety strategies.
