Overview

This exam is for participants who have previously attempted the Plumbing Registration Exams and are required to be examined again in one or more of the following classes of plumbing work:

  • Drainage
  • Gasfitting
  • Mechanical Services
  • Roofing (Stormwater)
  • Sanitary 
  • Water Supply

To help you pass your Plumbing Registration Exam, revision classes are held the week before the exams. It is important to rebook ASAP or the VBA may direct you to retraining.

NOTE: Students from TAFE colleges outside of RMIT must contact the VBA to book their exam.

Course content

Students repeating the entire exam (5 or 6 streams) will be required for 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday).

Students repeating 3 or 4 streams will be required to attend 2 days (Wednesday and Thursday).

Students repeating 1 or 2 streams be will required to attend 1 day (Thursday)

How to book

Click ‘enrol’ alongside your preferred dates. Complete the Registration form and click ‘proceed’ to finalise your registration. The VE Partnerships team will contact you in the following days to establish which streams you need to repeat, and provide you with a link to complete payment. The cost of the Journeymans Repeat is $150 per stream.

Prerequisites

Plumbing apprentices who have completed the current Victorian Certificate III in Plumbing training at RMIT or another trade school and previously attempted the Plumbing Registration Exam.

Materials supplied

All relevant materials, assessment equipment and examinations are included.

Materials to bring

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), tools and optional equipment.

Suited to

Students who have previously attempted the Journeymans exam and have been told they need to resit one or more of the classes.

Before coming on campus all students must complete the Australian Government, Department of Health COVID-19 Infection Control online module.

You will need to email this evidence such as PDF or screenshot of the certificate to ve.partnerships@rmit.edu.au and bring evidence that you have done so before you will be allowed into the workshops.

Outcome

At the end of the exam the VBA will notify participants of their results.
