Dr. Yuguo Yu
Dr Yuguo Yu is an active researcher with strong track record in the fields of sustainable concrete technology, virtual computational mechanics, as well as machine learning aided analysis & design.
Dr Yuguo Yu holds BE, ME, and PhD in Civil Engineering. He has research experience in broad areas, with expertise focused on sustainable concrete technology, virtual computational mechanics, as well as machine learning aided analysis & design. To date, he has generated many high-quality research outputs with industrial tractions (Australian Innovation Patent granted in 2019), where all of his journal papers are published on JCR Q1 platforms. With the active research outputs, Dr Yuguo Yu has made original contributions to Civil Engineering, which can be summarised as follows:
- Pioneer a physics-based model for aging assessment of sustainable cementitious materials
- Develop a high-fidelity corrosion prediction method for aging reinforced structures
- Establish machine learning aided physics-based method for virtual structural health monitoring

- Low-carbon concrete analysis and design
- Circular economy in construction materials using underexploited natural resources
- Computational mechanics and material science
- Machine learning in structural analysis and design
