Research supervision
Researcher with research interests in sound insulation, sound absorption, the radiation of sound from walls and openings, reverberant and anechoic sound fields, and building acoustics measurements
Professor Davy has conducted research in acoustics for more than 46 years. He is currently also collaborating with Professor Mohammad Fard from the School of Engineering to supervise research students in the areas of acoustics, vibration and computer recognition of squeak and rattle sounds in vehicles
- Conducting research and supervising research students in the areas of the prediction of diffuse field sound insulation, the prediction of sound absorption, the directivity of sound insulation, the directivity of the radiation of sound from openings, reverberant and anechoic sound fields, microphone turbulence screens, building acoustics measurements, vibration, computer recognition of squeak and rattle sounds in vehicles and wind turbine noise
- Supervision of final year undergraduate students in science and engineering undertaking their final year projects in the area of acoustics
- Consulting to industry in the area of acoustics
