Bundoora campus

The Bundoora campus, in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, is set in a tranquil parkland environment complete with outdoor sporting facilities.

The Melbourne Bundoora campus is 18 kilometres north-east of Melbourne’s city centre – a relaxing environment surrounded by open spaces and native parklands. The campus, with East and West sections on either side of Plenty Road, houses many of RMIT’s engineering, health and medical sciences and education programs.

Features and facilities

Key facilities include:

  • purpose-built health and medical science laboratory
  • RMIT's Trades Innovation Centre – a cutting-edge facility offering the latest in skills training and technology for students and industry
  • dedicated engineering campus (East)
  • sporting facilities including a FIFA-approved soccer pitch, football oval, athletics track, and tennis and netball courts
  • a Library (West campus)
  • childcare centre
  • health sciences teaching clinics.

There are plenty of outdoor features to enjoy, including the Keelbundoora Scarred Tree and Heritage Trail, ornamental lakes and abundant greenery and wildlife.

You’ll find a range of interesting local sites and attractions including Bundoora Park and the Bundoora Homestead Art Centre as well as any number of indoor and outdoor activities to keep yourself entertained.

The Hurstbridge train line and tram route 86 provide easy access to Bundoora and local buses frun frequently through the area.

Food and drinks

On-campus you'll find a number of food retailers, microwaves and free drinking water stations.

Located in the leafy hills of Melbourne's northern suburbs, Bundoora campus has a variety of food options, ensuring you won't need to travel far for refreshments.

Transport

The Bundoora campus is 18 kilometres north-east of Melbourne's city centre, along Plenty Road.

The closest Metro train stations are Thomastown and Lalor Stations on the South Morang line, and Greensborough Station on the Hurstbridge line.

From here you can connect to local buses and trams.

Yarra Trams Route 86 will take you direct from Waterfront City Docklands to the Bundoora campus gates. Get off at stop number 70 (Janefield Drive) for the West side of the campus, and stop number 71 (Bundoora RMIT) for the East side.

Bundoora campus is on Plenty Road between Bundoora and Mill Park. Both the East and West sides of the campus can be accessed from the closest major freeway, the Metropolitan Ring Road (M80).

Free bus service for students that will take you around Bundoora campus and the surrounding areas until late at night.
