Library Pride writing and art competition

Submit a written or audiovisual response that exemplifies your own vision, story, experience, hope or dream for the future of the LGBTQIA+ community - OUR FUTURE!

The competition is open to all current RMIT students. There will be two categories that can be entered:

  • Written - A submission of up to 1000 words. Short essay, opinion piece, or poem. 
  • Visual art - A short video 1 to 5 minutes duration, TikTok, photo, poster, small physical item or whatever your heart desires!

Prizes:

  • $200 for best written work
  • $200 for best visual artwork
  • $50 for people's choice of work chosen during the showcase period

Key dates:

  • Registration of interest opens 3 July and closes 14 July, 2024.
  • Submissions open 15 July and close on 11 August, 2024.
  • Showcase of submissions available 26-28 August in Building 8, Level 6 at Swanston Library.
  • The winners will be announced on Wear It Purple Day, 30 August. Afternoon tea provided at event.
