IDA Sports Co-founder Ben Sandhu, said it was an extraordinary opportunity for the business, which is currently involved in Activator’s LaunchHUB program.
“Of course there were a few butterflies, but it was really humbling pitching to such an engaged audience of some of the best and brightest business leaders in Melbourne,” Sandhu said.
The Pitch@Palace participants were an exciting example of the entrepreneurial mindset in action, combining great ideas and innovative technology to solve local and global problems.
Another pitch on the night came from Master of Analytics student and Research Officer in the School of Science Dr Jo Zimpel, who developed STEM Hub, an online marketplace that connects industry with the science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) community.
They’re currently focused on providing top quality STEM internships, capstone projects and jobs for students and recent graduates.
Zimpel, who developed the business after her own difficulty finding work in the industry post study, said the experience at Pitch@Palace was phenomenal.
“I was approached by some amazing companies,” Zimpel said.
The future looks bright for STEM Hub, partnering with RMIT’s School of Science and looking to extend their relationship with the College of Science, Engineering and Health.
