Lecturer in Law and Arts Management, Master of Fine Arts (Arts Management), School of Art.
Recent research concentrates on the legal dimensions of Australian artistic practice concentrating on the philosophical and jurisprudential relationship between the explorations by specific artists or artistic expressions and the laws which impact upon those explorations including:
- the regulation of free speech (defamation, privacy laws)
- property in expression (copyright)
- appropriation and expropriation of public space (public order offences including limitation on freedom of association and anti-graffiti laws)
- protection of vulnerable individuals (obscenity and child pornography offences)
- authenticity of the art markets (fake and problematic works).
