The Correspondent: Special Preview Screening

Investigative journalist Peter Greste and award-winning actor Richard Roxburgh unite for a live in-conversation with RMIT's Lisa French following a special preview screening of The Correspondent.

In a world marked by escalating global conflicts and a relentless news cycle, the power of reliable investigative journalism has never been more vital.

At this special event presented by RMIT in partnership with The Wheeler Centre, hear firsthand from Peter Greste as he recounts his harrowing imprisonment during his reporting on the Arab Spring. He shares how he survived, and the profound lessons learned while caught in the heart of a deadly conflict.

The Correspondent, a new film based on Greste's autobiography The First Casualty, stars the beloved and prolific actor Richard Roxburgh. This event will feature a preview of the film ahead of its theatrical release on 17 April 2025, followed by Greste and Roxburgh joined by Professor Lisa French, Dean of RMIT's School of Media and Communication, for a compelling conversation about the process of adapting and recreating an unforgettable story.

Presented by RMIT Culture, in partnership with The Wheeler Centre and Maslow Entertainment.

Tickets to this event include both the film screening and the in-conversation following the screening.
