MORA-RMIT Scholarship

If you are an international student from Indonesia applying for a PhD at RMIT, you may be eligible for this scholarship.

Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA) Indonesia and RMIT are collaborating to promote access of Indonesian students for any PhD programs offered by RMIT.

The MORA-RMIT scholarship (Beasiswa Studi S3 Luar Negeri) is a part of MORA’s ‘Beasiswa Program 5000 Doktor’ scholarship scheme which has the aim of improving human resources at Islamic Universities.

Value and duration

The jointly funded scholarship provides 100% of your tuition fees for a maximum of 4 years as well as financial support in other areas outlined below.

  • living allowance
  • book allowance
  • settlement allowance
  • health Insurance
  • travel fee
  • conference fund
  • research fund
  • family allowance where required.
     

RMIT additionally funds:

  • English language studies and IELTS test if RMIT’s English language requirement has not been met (up to a value of AU$3500 per student)
  • RMIT-MORA Leadership Development Training consisting of Short Courses, Workshops and/or online modules to be delivered at a minimum once per year
     

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be a citizen of Indonesia
  • apply for an RMIT PhD program in a priority area of study (listed below)
  • meet the academic requirements for entry to RMIT and be offered a place in the program
  • satisfy the general and specific requirements of and be awarded the MORA scholarship
  • commence full-time enrolment as an onshore international student at RMIT.

How to apply

  1. Find an RMIT PhD program in a priority area of study (listed below).
  2. Find two supervisors whose background is aligned to your research interests and prepare a research topic proposal for them when asked.
  3. Ensure that you meet the academic entry criteria for the program.
  4. Make an application to study at RMIT University. If you already have been awarded the scholarship before you make your application please indicate so on your application.
  5. Apply for scholarship on the MORA website.
