Helen Garner: The Season

RMIT Culture and The Wheeler Centre present one of Australia's literary icons as she unveils her latest work about family, masculinity and the influential role of sport in the lives of young people.

In Helen Garner's much-anticipated book 'The Season' she turns her keen observational eye and sharp wit to the world of suburban footy, following her grandson's team through the highs and lows of the season. 

The celebrated author is joined by veteran broadcaster and journalist Leigh Sales to discuss Garner's newest work, the nobility of team spirit and the role sport plays in shaping young lives. Don't miss the opportunity to witness two of Australia's finest minds discuss a work that is sure to resonate with readers and sports enthusiasts alike.
