But here I am, graduated in 2023 and now a 5/6 primary teacher."

The placements I undertook were rewarding and gave me amazing insight into the career I was stepping into. "It’s a privilege to accept the award and my own former teachers have been a continual inspiration throughout the degree. Alongside study, I’ve similarly had the joy of mentoring with Story Studios Australia and tutoring for the VCA, both of which have provided deeply rewarding opportunities for learning and community. I hope that in my own teaching, I can provide to my students even just a fragment of the inspiration, encouragement and belonging that has been provided to me."
