Health Club

Whether your goal is to get fit, tone up or improve your health, you will immediately feel welcome when you enter our state of the art Health Club.

With over 20 pieces of Life Fitness cardio equipment, 30 pin loaded and plate loaded Hammer Strength stations, free weights area and cardio entertainment system, you’ll be able to work every part of your body effectively, making the most of every minute.

At RMIT Sports Centre we understand that starting an exercise program for the first time can be a little intimidating, so our fully qualified and friendly staff are here to guide and support you every step of the way.

Membership starts with an amazing three one-hour introductory sessions with your very own health and fitness instructor who will support and guide you through those important early workout stages.

Your first complementary session begins with a comprehensive health and fitness evaluation which includes:

  • Personal profile
  • Exercise and sporting history
  • Medical history
  • Cardiac risk assessment
  • Training goals and objectives
  • Nutritional advice and guidance
  • Physical assessment and fitness testing
  • Review and planning

Your instructor will use baseline information and personal goals set out in your assessment to design a program especially for you and then assess your progress and success over time. Your membership also includes two complementary exercise program inductions where your trainer will take you through each individual exercise on your program ensuring you understand how to perform every movement safely, adjust your training loads and use each individual machine correctly.

Membership also includes regular re-assessments every 12 weeks so you and your trainer can work closely assessing your progress, identifying improvements and discussing any barriers and or new challenges.

Gym expansion and new equipment

Our Sports Centre Health Club is going from strength to strength with a recent expansion of our overall floor space and range of strength training equipment.

In response to student, staff and member requests for an increase in advanced strength and sports training equipment, we have extended the gym floor space into an adjoining room adding over 60 sqm to the overall area.

This has allowed us to add another 8 major pieces of advanced strength training pin-loaded and plate loaded equipment, providing for even more varied and specialised training, programming, and member access to the most popular equipment during busy peak times.

New equipment includes Life Fitness & Calgym smith machines, dual adjustable pulley, 45 degree leg press, plate loaded bench press, chrome plated dumbbell rack and more.
