Graduates in this area find rewarding employment in sectors such as policing, courts, community corrections, as well as non-government agencies such as post-incarceration support, advocacy and client services.

A 50-day industry placement working in the field provides graduates with practical skills and ensure they are job ready for a career in the criminal justice and/or client advocacy sectors. 

Research expertise

Teaching and research staff in this area investigate pressing criminal and social justice issues such as:

  • miscarriages of justice,
  • wrongful convictions,
  • crime and violence prevention; cyber crime and digital harms, and
  • prisoner advocacy, reform and rehabilitation.
