Sushi is an award-winning journalist and author with more than two decades of experience working in news. She leads RMIT Lookout’s team of fact checkers and provides training in information integrity. Previously, she worked at AAP before moving to The Age newspaper where she held a series of senior positions over 23 years, including news editor, senior writer and opinion editor. She is also a PhD candidate researching fact checking at RMIT University.
David is a former chief fact checker with RMIT ABC Fact Check, where he also edited a national newsletter covering mis/disinformation. Before becoming a fact checker in 2017, David was a freelance journalist and public servant with the Australian Bureau of Statistics. He holds degrees in international relations and political science from the University of Tasmania and a Master of Global Media Communication from the University of Melbourne.
Eiddwen has worked as a fact checker since 2022, covering a range of topics including mis/disinformation related to the COVID pandemic, 2022 federal election and 2023 Voice referendum. She completed a Bachelor of Professional Communication at RMIT University in 2022, where she majored in journalism.
Frank is a published academic researcher. He is also a PhD candidate in the School of Social Sciences at Monash University where he researches election promises made by Australian federal governments. He is a key member of the team that runs the RMIT Promise Tracker, a public-facing platform that tracks election promises.
