About the business

Location: Online

Heltech is a start-up that is developing a new motocross (MX) helmet design. This new design will use new protective-systems technology that will elevate the level of protection offered to riders and racers.
Heltech has pulled the G-force sensor that was to be in-built into the MX helmet, as it's MVP. This 'Crash Severity Sensor' will provide important data to the wearer and first responders regarding their potential injury.
It has wider applications to other sports and industries.

Paul Dorotich

Founder director - paul@heltech.com.au

Paul Dorotich has been riding and racing motorbikes since he was 10 years old. Mostly endurance racing, off-road including motocross.
One day after a small crash, he realised the EPS (expanded polystyrene) inside his helmet was rock hard and therefore not very protective. This moment led him down the path of trying to work out how to make a safer helmet. Paul graduated RMIT with a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy). He determined helmets needed better technology, including in-built helmet sensors to capture data and help the rider. From this his Helmet company Heltech was born!
