Note: Please don’t upload this template as part of your Early Offer application.
Complete your full name, address, mobile number, date of birth, email as well as some secondary school details.

Select ONE category that best fits you and your experiences:
Consider your life experiences and activities for your responses. This cannot include school projects or anything that will contribute to your ATAR.
For your selected category, you will need to verify your responses with evidence. You can use our Evidence of experience template to upload with your application.
*If you select Category 1 or Category 2, you will need to clearly demonstrate at least 2 months duration of experience in your application and evidence.
Each category has subsections. You’ll need to provide a separate 200-word (maximum) individual response for as many subsections that relate to your experiences.
For example:
Category: Leadership
Subsections: Coaching, Project management, Delegating with respect and Managing conflict.
When writing your responses to the subsections, please use the STAR method as detailed below. This will strengthen your application.
We will assess all applications based on the STAR method.
Situation: Give the background of the experience by describing the situation.
Task: Describe what you were trying to achieve, and why this experience was significant.
Action: Explain the actions you took to resolve the situation described in your answer.
Result: Tell us about the outcome and/or feedback that supports your response.
You may want to write your responses under the STAR Method headings e.g. Situation, Task, Action, Result.
You’ll need to attach supporting evidence for your responses as part of submitting your application. Evidence provided must be sufficient for us to verify your responses.
Evidence documents can be personal, paid or volunteering references. These can include reference letter from your boss, coach, mentor, or course completion certificate and customer feedback.
You can use hyperlinks to websites, apps, videos or blogs you have created or written, however, ensure they have your name listed for us to verify.
Emails as evidence, without relevant contact details, resumes, images or text messages, can’t be used.
We may need to contact your reference person to verify your responses.
If you are unsure, Book in a chat with us to ask us any questions to make sure your application is ready for submission, or send us an email to earlyoffer@rmit.edu.au.
You can use the downloadable Evidence of experience template to be completed by someone who can verify your responses.
Your interests, hobbies and talents are what make you – not just your ATAR.
That’s why at RMIT, we recognise the value of extracurricular activities, including work experience, volunteering, involvement in youth clubs or committees, leadership positions at school, participation in hackathons, team sports or local theatre productions, organising community events, building your own app or website, diverse life circumstances and more.
Experiences you may want to reference include:
Once you have prepared your application responses and gathered your evidence, you will need to submit your application online.
Once an online application form is completed, supporting document/s attached and submitted, all applicants will receive an automatic confirmation email.
If you don’t receive this confirmation email, or if you have any questions, please contact earlyoffer@rmit.edu.au.
After the Early Offer closing date, RMIT’s Admission team will assess all applications using the STAR Method, along with relevant supporting documentation to determine the application outcome.
A scoring process will apply based on an applicants' ability to effectively respond to each individual subsection’s response under their nominated category. This will include how applicants respond by detailing the situation, task, action, and result and provide relevant supporting evidence.
Applicants can receive a score of 1 for each individual subsection response effectively answered.
To be eligible for an Early Offer, applicants must receive a minimum score of 1. If courses are competitive, applicants may be ranked against other submissions and require a higher score to receive an Early Offer.
All applicants will be notified in writing of their outcome by 26 September 2024.
If your Early Offer application is successful, please note the Early Offer is not an official VTAC offer. To receive a full offer from RMIT your Early Offer course must be in the highest eligible preference in your VTAC application and met all selection requirements.
To be eligible to receive your official offer through VTAC, make sure you have paid your VTAC course fees and have the course listed on your preference list.
You are eligible to receive one offer per round in VTAC. The official VTAC offer that you receive will be for the course listed highest on your list of preferences where you have met all selection requirements. Your preferences should be ordered by which course you want to do the most, to the course you want to do the least.
If your application is not successful, you can still apply for your preferred course via VTAC. You will need to meet the eligibility requirements.
You may still be eligible to receive an offer for this course through the regular selection process.
This is because the Early Offer ATAR refers to your 'raw' ATAR score (i.e. the ATAR you receive from VTAC, which is before adjustment factors are applied).
For example, if you receive an Early Offer for the Bachelor of Business, and receive an ATAR of 60, while you would not meet the conditions of your Early Offer course, you may be eligible for adjustment factors (such as SEAS and subject adjustments). Therefore, you may still receive an offer for the course through the regular selection process.
If you have any further questions, please contact earlyoffer@rmit.edu.au.
At RMIT, we know you’re made of more than a number. Not all of your life-skills and experiences come with a score card but with RMIT's early entry program, they can count towards your university application. Explore Early Offer at RMIT.
