This certificate is taught through a combination of lectures, tutorials, workshops, practical/laboratory exercises, work-simulated projects, and face-to-face classes.
Ongoing assessment throughout the semester includes examinations, reports, presentations, group projects, laboratory projects and practical assignments.
The types of classes you have will depend on the course you’re studying. Classes are offered in various formats designed to provide meaningful engagement with staff, industry and peers and provide for access and use of spaces where learning can be applied and active, including an array of specialised equipment.
Most RMIT courses do not include passive large-scale classes such as lectures, instead the content traditionally provided in lectures is made available online. This may be in the form of readings, videos or other on-demand learning materials. This content will also support the basis of interactive learning that takes place in on-campus classes.
This certificate closely aligns with the current needs of industry, and students have opportunities to attend important industry events such as the annual Cisco Live Student Summit.
Student project work closely simulates industry deployment scenarios and practical assignments are accurate workplace simulations.
The knowledge and skills you will acquire throughout this qualification and how they can be applied in your career are described in the learning outcomes.
Through your studies in this certificate, you will develop skills and knowledge in database creation, web programming, software development, the installation and management of simple networks, and be trained in network administration and security, either as an independent ICT specialist or as part of a team.
