RMIT Europe opens call for the 2025 Emerging Leaders program

RMIT Europe is partnering with EIT Urban Mobility to launch the second edition of the Emerging Leaders program, putting a call out to senior leaders from city councils across Europe to nominate high-potential team members to join the six-month journey.

The open call for nominations follows the success of the inaugural cohort, which launched in Barcelona this year.

RMIT Europe Executive Director Marta Fernandez said senior leaders from city councils across Europe are encouraged to nominate their emerging talent to join the prestigious program.

“Our unique and modern approach to leadership brings participants together and allows them to openly share their leadership challenges within an urban and mobility context.”

“The program also includes access to professional coaches, supporting participants on an individual basis,” she said.

“Another key benefit of the program is the alumni community, seeing participants stay in touch long after the program ends and continue cooperating based on the trust they built together as emerging leaders.”

Participants in the program’s foundation year also attest to its impact.

Péter Dalos, Mobility Development Expert and Program Manager of Active and Micromobility, said it had been a fantastic opportunity to meet international peers facing similar challenges.

“It was empowering to exchange thoughts on innovation and potential solutions.”

Lianne Cassar, Executive Secretary for the Local Council Association in Malta, said she particularly appreciated the program’s coaching sessions.

“They were an amazing part of the program and allowed me to further focus on elevating my leadership skills.”

“The program also helped me establish a network of international peers, and we’re looking forward to collaborating on different projects in the near future,” she said.

“The end of this program won’t be the last time we’ll be working together.”

Julia Azpiroz de Achával, Architect and Coordinator of the Sustainable and Safe Mobility Mission, said she enjoyed meeting people from various backgrounds.

“Having colleagues from Croydon, Milan, Budapest, Malta and Munich was an amazing experience and allowed us to share solutions to very similar challenges”.
