A collaboration between RMIT and Amazon Web Services (AWS), the RMIT Cyber Ready CIC addresses public sector challenges through digital innovation.

Now more than ever there is an escalating need for organisations to protect their digital and data assets from security threats, and solutions lie in a collective approach as well as building awareness and resilience across all spheres of society

Our mission is to strengthen Australia’s capability and resilience in addressing the rapidly evolving digital environment and associated Cyber Security threats by co-designing solutions with students, government and industry.

The CIC is backed by AWS’ cloud technology and expertise in machine learning, high-performance computing and data analytics, ensuring prototypes are equipped to deliver practical solutions using cutting edge tools and technology.

What is the Cyber Ready CIC?

RMIT's Cyber Ready CIC is a long-term, public/private collaboration between RMIT and Amazon Web Services. It forms part of a growing global network of Cloud Innovation Centres.

We work with RMIT students, high school students and industry partners to achieve our mission of delivering sophisticated cyber security solutions.

Students

If you're an RMIT student, you're invited to immerse yourself in a fast-paced innovation sprint that allows you to apply technical and entrepreneurial skills to a real-world problem presented by an Industry Sponsor.

Industry Challenges

Engage in a fast-paced innovation sprint that sees multidisciplinary teams of students working on a real-life cyber security challenge faced by your organisation.

The CIC approach uses the leading Amazon Web Services (AWS) "Working Backwards" methodology to help students gain a deeper understanding of your challenge statement and propose a solution protopye to this problem.

Students have access to AWS services, and work alongside AWS Solutions Architects to hone their technical skills and propose ideas that combine innovative thinking with leading-edge technologies.

Industry Advisory Board for Cyber (IABC)

The Industry Advisory Board for Cyber (IABC) is RMIT’s leading body of industry experts in the cyber sector.

The IABC is a university-wide initiative, encompassing the College of Business and Law, College of Science and Engineering, and the RMIT Activator. It aims to jointly support the RMIT University Centre for Cyber Security and Research and Innovation (CSRI) and the RMIT Cyber Ready Cloud Innovation Centre (CIC), along with the multitude of educational and research programs in this field.

High Schools

In an exclusive partnership with California Polytechnic State University (CalPoly), we're bringing the California Cyber Innovation Challenge (CCIC) to Australia.

The CCIC cyber security competition is designed to inspire technology career pathways in students and develop interest and knowledge in the cyber security industry, one of the key technology worker gaps identified.
