About

Dr. Lina Xu has been a lecturer at RMIT University since 2015, following the completion of her PhD at the University of Wollongong. Her research examines the influence of broader institutional and political contexts on accounting and accountability systems, employing critical and sociological perspectives to offer alternative insights into these phenomena.

 

An accomplished researcher, Lina has published in leading accounting journals, including Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal, Critical Perspectives on Accounting, Business History, Accounting & Finance, and Accounting History. She has twice received the Accounting History Best Manuscript Award (2015, 2018) and has secured competitive research grants from the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) and the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ).

 

Beyond research, Lina is a dedicated educator with over a decade of experience teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. She is particularly skilled in fostering interactive and engaging learning environments, integrating games and real-world scenarios to simplify complex concepts and encourage student participation
