The Women in Engineering Mentoring Program is an RMIT offering which links female-identifying and female-expressing engineering students with industry mentors.
The Women in Engineering Mentoring Program is for final year female engineering students from all engineering disciplines in HE, VE and Masters degrees who are graduating in the next 6 to 12 months.
Over a six-month period from April to October 2024, the Women in Engineering Mentoring Program will involve both face-to-face and online opportunities between mentees and mentors to discuss what it's like to work in the field of engineering, ask questions and build relationships.
Not only will all participating students receive bespoke guidance and advice from industry-leading women, but you’ll also receive a certificate of completion to support your future employment. Attendees will also receive support to complete the RMIT microcredential "Gender Equal Workplaces" (as a group or individually) to help increase employability.
Coordinated by RMIT's Equity and Inclusion team and presented in collaboration with guest speakers and RMIT’s Women in STEMM student ambassadors from RMIT's Women in STEMM programs and RUSU FIRE+ as well as external organisations iSTEM and Women in STEMM Australia, we're committed to giving students the best chance forward as they transition into their careers.
This program promotes diversity and inclusion and is open to students from diverse lifestyles, cultural backgrounds, abilities and identities.
