Graduate with two qualifications

RMIT's unique model combines vocational and higher education, meaning you'll graduate with both a vocational qualification and a bachelor's degree, as well as the knowledge and practical skills relevant to the needs of your industry.

What is a degree apprenticeship?

A degree apprenticeship is a program that combines vocational (TAFE) and higher education university study with paid employment. It is an exciting alternative to the traditional university route, allowing you to gain practical experience and academic learning simultaneously, all while being employed and paid.

How a degree apprenticeship works

It starts with you being employed as a trainee on a full-time employment and training contract for a specified duration.

During that time, your employer pays you and provides on-the-job training, supervision and mentoring, with support from RMT.

You also get paid time release each week during semesters to attend classes at RMIT and fulfil your study requirements.

You will graduate from RMIT already with five years work experience in your industry, plus two globally recognised qualifications.

A winning blend of work and study

A work-based learning approach to fast-tracking your career, our degree apprenticeships mean you'll graduate with formal university qualifications as well as years of work experience, setting you up for a successful career path.

Splitting your time between working at the company and attending university allows you to immediately apply what you learn in the classroom to your real workplace.

You also benefit by seeing first-hand how experienced professionals operate, receiving mentorship, and building your resume and industry networks all while studying and receiving a salary.
