Staying healthy

Staying healthy

A healthy body equals a healthy mind! Here are some tips to help you to stay healthy and be your best.

A poor diet can be linked to poor grades, so by making healthy food choices, you may also improve your academic performance.

What to buy and where to shop

The best place to shop for fresh food is the Queen Victoria Market, where you will find fruit and vegetables, fish and meat. They are open every day except Monday and Wednesday. If you go at the end of the day, you will often find food at a cheaper price!

What to cook

You don’t need to have any special skills or equipment to prepare a great meal. You can make a lot of meals with just a pan, a stove and a rice cooker. There are many quick and easy recipes for students. If you make more than you need, just bring it to school the next day for lunch. There are microwaves in the student cafeteria on Level 4 if you need to reheat your food.

The Student Experience Team hold regular lunchtime events in the café on Level 4, and these usually involve free food! From regular monthly BBQ’s to smoothies and pizza days, these events are a chance to socialise with fellow students and also enjoy some simple foods you could cook or make at home.

For more information about these lunchtime events and other excursions and activities, keep your eyes on the Student Experience activities page

MSAC has two swimming pools, indoor basketball courts, squash, badminton, table tennis and a gym.

Yarra Bend Park

Walk or run along the tracks next to the Yarra River amongst the trees and birds!

1000 Steps

The 1000 Steps Walk is an institution for fitness enthusiasts across Melbourne. The 3km trek is one of the most popular spots in the Dandenong Ranges National Park, but its steep terrain is not to be underestimated
