RMIT Master Plan 2045

The RMIT Master Plan (master plan) is our bold 20-year vision and framework to guide the physical development of our Melbourne campuses.

Building for the future

What is the RMIT Master Plan

The RMIT Master Plan is our bold 20-year vision and framework to guide the physical development of our Melbourne campuses.

Our master plan guides campus development that supports deeper learning, meaningful connections, and purposeful innovation. It’s our commitment to building the foundations for life-long learning and community impact through stimulating, high-quality, educational experiences, creating spaces to enjoy now and be ready for the future.

The master plan is driven by RMIT’s Property Services Group.

What it’s for

The master plan is for our  RMIT community – our current and future students, staff, industry partners and stakeholders – and the broader Victorian communities where we are located. Combining technology with human-centric strategies, the master plan helps us create inclusive spaces where learning and innovation thrive, and shared benefit  for everyone.

What’s happening

The master plan is currently in progress and being shaped through consultation, research and strategic planning. Through this process, we’re envisioning vibrant and sustainable university experiences: enriched learning facilities, integrated technology, and greener environments. We’re rolling out the master plan in stages to minimise disruption to our campuses and community.

How to get involved

The RMIT Master Plan is underway!  We encourage you to engage and participate in the consultation processes, workshops and events we’re holding  across the university. Your involvement ensures our Plan embodies the collective vision and aspirations of our community.
