Giang’s research interest is exploring farmers’ choice around sustainable agricultural practices (SAPs), especially in developing countries.
Huong Giang Pham is an economics PhD student at the School of Economics, Finance and Marketing. Giang completed her Master’s degree in economics from Monash University in 2015.
Currently, Giang is investigating what factors influence Vietnamese farmers’ preference for the adoption of Sustainable Agricultural Practices (SAPs). She is applying microeconometrics models to explore different issues on this subject.
As one part of her thesis, she will use a Discrete Choice Experiment to explore what factors influence coffee farmers in the central highlands region in Vietnam to adopt SAPs in their farms.
Before joining RMIT as a PhD student, Giang was a lecturer in Environmental Economics at the Faculty of International Economics, Foreign Trade University, Vietnam from 2009 – 2014. She chose to study at RMIT because of the opportunities to work with leading researchers in Australia and to live in Australia's creative academic environment. That will benefit not only her career as a lecturer in economics, but also her future students as well as Australia’s research records.
