Evaluation of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme in Victorian Government Primary Schools

This study investigated the impact of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) on student outcomes, pedagogical practice and school culture in Australian public primary schools.

Project dates: 2013-2014

Grants and funding: International Baccalaureate Organization

Using a mixed methods research strategy the study also sought to develop in-depth understandings of the factors that influence schools to implement the PYP, and the extent to which the perceived benefits of PYP implementation are realized in practice. An additional component of the research examined emergent challenges and enablers associated with the introduction of the Australian National Curriculum.
