Apart from the 2 litter trackers that travelled less than a kilometer, the other 3 trackers did not travel more than 3.5 km. Unlike the lower part of the Merri Creek, this part of the creek has riffles and riparian vegatation causing entrapment of the litter trackers in the creek. It is possible that litter that enters the creek in this area is likely to remain in the water system.
